Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Authors are encouraged to submit manuscripts in the following categories:

  2. Submission Process:
    • Manuscripts must be submitted online via the journal’s submission portal.
    • A cover letter detailing the significance of the research must accompany each submission.
    • Manuscripts should follow a structured format: Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion.
  3. Manuscript Formatting:
    • Abstracts should not exceed 250 words and must include 4-6 relevant keywords.
    • Manuscripts must be written in clear, concise English, double-spaced with a 12-point font (Times New Roman preferred).
    • Figures and tables must be numbered sequentially and include descriptive captions.
  4. Ethical Standards:
    • Research involving human or animal subjects must adhere to ethical standards and include proof of ethical approval.
    • Authors are required to disclose any conflicts of interest at the time of submission.
  5. Plagiarism and Review Process:
    • All submissions are checked for plagiarism, and manuscripts with unoriginal content will be rejected.
    • Submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure scientific validity, with typical review times between 6-8 weeks.
  6. Open Access:
    • JEBPS operates under an open-access model, making all published articles freely accessible. Articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution License(CC-BY), allowing for unrestricted use with proper citation.
    • Authors retain the copyright of their work but must agree to the journal's terms and conditions regarding distribution and reproduction.
    • A processing fee applies upon acceptance of the manuscript based on the type of article and the economic

Publication Ethics for the Journal of Experimental Biology and Pharmaceutical Sciences

The Journal of Experimental Biology and Pharmaceutical Sciences is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in publishing, aligning with the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA), and World Association of Medical Editors (WAME). To ensure the integrity of research and uphold the trust of the scientific community, the following ethical guidelines are followed:

  1. Editorial Responsibility
  • Fair Review Process: Editors must ensure that every manuscript is evaluated based on its intellectual content without regard to the authors' race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
  • Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and the publisher as appropriate.
  • Decision-Making: Editors have full responsibility and authority to accept or reject articles. Editors should be guided by the reviewers' reports and COPE guidelines in case of ethical concerns.
  • Conflict of Interest: Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where there is a conflict of interest.
  1. Authors’ Responsibilities
  • Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure their work is original and has not been published elsewhere. All submissions must pass through plagiarism detection software. Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given.
  • Data Integrity: Authors should provide accurate descriptions of their research methods and present results honestly. Manipulation or fabrication of data is strictly prohibited.
  • Authorship: All listed authors should have made significant contributions to the research and share responsibility for the content. The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and agree to its submission.
  • Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Authors are required to disclose any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that might influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.
  • Ethical Approvals: Research involving human subjects, animals, or hazardous materials must have appropriate ethical approval from recognized institutions. Authors must provide documentation of these approvals when submitting their manuscripts.
  1. Reviewers’ Responsibilities
  • Objective Review: Reviewers should provide objective, constructive feedback aimed at improving the manuscript. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate.
  • Timeliness: Reviewers should complete their reviews in a timely manner, and notify the editor if they are unable to meet the deadline or lack the expertise to assess certain aspects of the manuscript.
  • Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents and must not share or discuss them with others except as authorized by the editor.
  • Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest that could bias their opinions of the manuscript and should decline to review specific manuscripts if necessary.
  1. Post-Publication Responsibilities
  • Corrections and Retractions: Authors have a responsibility to promptly notify the editor if a significant error in their published work is identified. The journal will publish corrections or retractions in accordance with COPE guidelines.
  • Handling of Misconduct: Any allegations of research or publication misconduct, such as data fabrication, plagiarism, or unethical research practices, will be investigated thoroughly following COPE’s guidelines. This may involve notifying the institution(s) involved in the research.
  1. Open Access and Licensing

The journal adheres to the principles of the OASPA, ensuring that all published articles are freely accessible to the public. Articles are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY), which allows for reuse and distribution as long as proper credit is given to the original authors.

Author Checklist for Submission to the Journal of Experimental Biology and Pharmaceutical Sciences (JEBPS)

Before submitting your manuscript to JEBPS, ensure that the following items are completed:

  • Conflict of interest: All potential conflicts of interest have been disclosed.
  • Authorship contributions: Ensure all authors have contributed substantially and meet the authorship criteria.

3. Files for Submission

  • Main manuscript file: Prepared in a Word or PDF format, including all text, references, figures, and tables.
  • Cover letter: Includes a brief statement highlighting the significance of your research and why it is suitable for JEBPS.
  • Supplementary materials: Any additional files (e.g., raw data, appendices) are included if required.
